  • I can't believe that no one has commented on Les Paul! Not only was he one of the greatest guitar players ever, he invented multi-tracking/overdubbing and some of the best guitars ever! What a legend! Where are all you guitarists - give Les some support for Heaven's sake!

  • Les Paul is My hero and a genius. The greatest player and innovator ever (in my opinion).

  • does anyone know where one could find all of bb and les playing together

  • @timjmoran As far as I know, all of what you said there is true but you neglected to mention the fact that leo fender actually asked les Paul to work with him instead of Gibson but les refused, saying that if he was going to do it then he wanted to work with the biggest guitar company in the world, and that was Gibson.

  • Les Paul RIP, But I laughed so hard at 1:09 "Lemme play with myself" lolol

  • les paul is dead i am sad

  • When it comes to musical geniuses of the 20th Century, Les Paul is in the top 1.

  • RIP Les Paul :(

  • REDSHOE.. one other thing.. LP brought that idea for the Solid body guitar to Gibson waaaay b4 the early 50's( I believe it was more like the early 40's-

    ie, the "log" )

Gibson ACTually issued the 1st Les Paul

    guitar in '52.

  • REDSHOE--Slight correction there.. the "log" was a SEMI-Hollow body

guitar- LP took a 4"x4" pc of wood, mounted the pickups, bridge & Tailpiece to that; THEN took two halves of an old Epiphone Archtop and attached them to

that 4x4". The idea was to cut down the

feedback problem of Archtop Hollow body guitars & also increase sustain. Gibson took a pass on it. w/ the result that Leo Fender beat Gibson to the market by 4

years( the original Broadcaster, 1st issued in ( I believe) '48.
