  • @eclecticderby these people are every where. people who "claim" to be Christians but really are not. In Matthew 7:15-23 Jesus describes these people quite clearly.

  • @brianjnunes God WILL not. All things, bad things, good things, will work together for OUR good. This idea that God may or may not, is so human. He is God, who said "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." The whole essense of the NEW covernant speaks of forgiveness. paul reputed believers who still have sinful actions: Don't you know you are forever cleansed? Why still sin? know what you have and you shall live it out.

  • @brianjnunes There is no such thing. Yes, if someone did not say the sinner's prayer, or said it in jest, then you are right. But the bible says clearly, if you believe in Christ, and knows he is your saviour, and believes in his finished work, called out his name, you are saved. What you do after that do not determine your position as the righteous believer.

  • @eclecticderby God may take everything from you. If He needs to. He may allow you to suffer. If He needs you to. He does everything for the good of those that love him. He will break you if that is what it takes for you to be conformed to Christ. All these things we have we should count as loss compared to the worth of knowing Christ.

  • @brianjnunes non-converted Christians.... i dont get it!!!!

  • @eclecticderby I don't believe anything is achieved by my efforts. God has changed my heart and i am no longer a slave to sin. It has no authority over me. And it is only by the power of the Spirit that I can turn from it. I don't see how you can feel what Piper is saying is a problem. He is saying that non-converted "christians" have not changed what is important to them. They still desire the same thing, but just have a different means of trying to aquire it.

  • @brianjnunes that's the problem with you: you still think God will take everything away from you. When the bible says, God even NUMBERED the hairs on our head. Read the new covenant: Hebrews 8: I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:... 12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

It's all about Him. not us. your video is shocking...

  • @joyjoyrayray Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Anyone who calls him "My lord! my Savior!" is saved. BY FAITH! AMEN! For Piper to turn around and say: hey, you only go to church, you still love material stuff, your salvation is NOT eternal. Now that's saying that Jesus's work on the cross is not complete enough to save you. Your salvation still depends on YOU. That's rubbish. It dis-honor the blood of Jesus.

  • @brianjnunes We are no longer under the law, like Job. we have the fruits of the spirit. peace, joy, and sound mind. Discipline not out of our own efforts but because of his grace. Not committing sexual sins not because we force ourselves to stop temptation, but because Jesus has ALREADY made our body TEMPLES for the holy spirit. The fundamental difference btw your faith and mine: i believe that holiness is a fruit born out of believing Him, you believe you must achieve it by your efforts.

  • @eclecticderby it's not saying you must do these to be saved. It is a result of being truly converted. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

If the LORD took everything from you, like He did Job, how would you respond?
