Tour of the outside of an abandoned apartment building in Salton City. This is one of many abandoned buildings along the Salton Sea.

The Salton Sea was once a popular place for boating, swimming, fishing, etc., but an increase in the salt level of the water caused large numbers of fish to die and the water became foul. This, in addition to a couple of hurricanes in the 1970's, caused the communities surrounding the sea to deteriorate.

The Salton Sea was recently featured on Life After People on the History Channel.

When ever you do out side video taping, you need to have wind screen as all I am hearing is wind noise.

@mrsmelzbad The problem was that the lake only had rivers flowing in and no rivers leaving the lake. Meaning the water in it never flowed out. With no outlet and with all the run off from the fields and the new river from Mexico it kept getting more and more polluted.
