I actually just discovered this tune a few weeks ago...my bro showed me a video here on Youtube of Elton John performing this song at his 60th birthday concert...and was thoroughly impressed by the performance. I quickly proceeded to learn the tune.
It's from his 1972 record Honky Chateau.

Very impressive Eddie. I've been an Elton John Junkie since the beginning of his career. I never get enough of his music. Your voice with the guitar instead of piano was a perfect blend. well my friend, this is the video that really got me to take the leap into uploading stuff to youtube. as you said you had recently discovered this Elton classic, I invite you to come and check out a couple other obscure Elton tunes, which I've uploaded, that you may not be familiar with - "High Flying Bird" from his "Don't Shoot Me..." album, and "Holiday Inn" from the "Madman..." album. Well, check out Elton's versions too, for sure! actually I suggest HIS first....
