There is hardly anything between them. Power to weight ratio is the same, Clio has more torque albeit only 3lbft but is 170kg's lighter.

Anybody who says one of these cars is miles faster than the other as standard is either stupid or deluded.

Both are very good cars. I personally prefer the clio because I find it more fun to drive, attracts less attention on the road and is just as quick. Also clio's can now be picked up for pennies and are cheaper to insure then type r's.

Renault are no novices when it comes to making a GOOD Fast hot hatch!!!!!

Anyone can tune a car and then claim it's faster than the equivalent stock motor, what is done/ or spent on the civic can easily be done to the clio, clio's are very tunable just like the type-r so really its a pointless argument.

As for weight, the clio 172 cup at 1010 kg is very light for a modern hatch which gives it an immediate advantage.

As for the idiot that says he can pull birds in a civic, haha, yeah ok, im sure 14yr olds are impressed by a type r down mcdonalds.

anything performance from japan normally is the business but dont knock the clio

for its buck! its pound 4 pound probz the best hot hatch u can get for cheap the civic is much more money so if the civic is not a better all round car then honda have failed badly. also theres many many many cars better than the civic which cost more.... and dont chat shit about mods ..it really is boring when someone claims there car is a beast with mods.
