Venus Transit 2004

From the analogue video archive.
Live 24cm Amateur TV transmission of the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. Luckily the sun was in the East and out of the shack window. A spur of the moment idea, I used binoculars on my tripod to project the image, this left the camera hand held, and rather shaky.
I now have 2 tripods so next time with more planning the image could be steady. The back projected drafting film method gave best results with true positions and linearity. The video shows the hand held sheet of film, complete with hand at times, thoughts, ideally 3 tripods would be needed for this method.
