what has to do with 300?? this epic is not only myth but also History.. Red Cliff still can find in China today..Hail to Three Kingdoms era!!! greatest epic ever!

Its based on the novel, not on the history. The records of the three kingdoms is a dry reading. Only gives names, dates, and battles. The novel helps give the history some emotion.

not to mention the differences between the novelistic history, and the REAL history. There are many inaccuracies, but im happy a movie is being made at all, even though Cao Cao is a personal idol for me

Out of all the western films that glorifies the "WEST" i.e.Gladiator, King Arthur etc,Red Cliff is probably one of the most historically accurate films made (or so says the makers of the film). If not Troy; "300" blatantly crossed the line of ridiculousness, mixed with racism and you-wish-you-were fantasy glorification. I mean Spartans? As far as I know, they knew nothing of honor to a scale matchable to Far Eastern Valor. Eastern history is rich yet forgotten, we should remind ourselves again!

There is nothing similar between Red Cliff and 300...maybe the watered down version that is available in the States will be like that, but this is far from guys in speedos and spears and heavy metal soundtracks.
