@bryandhughes Because the head holds all the sharp venomous parts. Their venom doesn't detoxify after death, and If you leave the head lay on the ground someone or something could step on it, and would end up with the equivilent of a snake bite. If you have to kill it and not just leave it alone...
Good stuff... I've personally seen a Mohave Rattler that had been dead for hours snap into a coil as it was being laid out to be cleaned. Luckily, no one hurt.
GREAT VIDEO! I did hear one thing though that baby snakes are more dangerous too because they continuously strike.
