@streetfighter398 the factory doesn't reccomend it, so I don't in mine. I have shot several hundred rounds of HV with no problems.

Perfect gun to stick in my G-string.

Hey I am on my second gun now. They both cracked in the same spot, just under the slide where the magazine slides in. The manual says to use standard velocity only, Maybe this is why.

They are great guns!Fun to shoot and cheap.The reason i like this mod is because the section I bend would not cause any issue with the firearm.I choose not to cut it because then it could void your warranty.if you can remove the part through normal break down or cleaning then replacing the part with an oem or better, then its not altering the the firearm.But beware some companies are funny about there stuff.
