Something you may not have known about Portugal...

10 years ago, Lisbon and many other Portuguese cites were a horrible place to be.
They were filled with drugs and crime .

However, thanks to the recent change in Portugal's drug strategy and stance on drugs, the country's drug problem is no longer even close to bad. Neither is general crime and drug related health problems. The country has also saved a tonne of money (which has been used for drug education, etc), and relieved its criminal justice system (a lot of only drug users were classified as criminals before)
This is because of the way that Portugal took a progressive stance on drugs. The country tends to treat drugs and use of them as a Health concern rather than classifying users and anything to do with drugs (except for the distributors of them) as criminal.

AMERICANS...
Keeping drugs illegal is profitable for the drug cartels, banks that launder drug money, prison-industrial complex's that profits incarcerating people, and this grows big government and government agencies that fight drugs costing YOU money (your taxes go to this) .

Call for a STOP to the ridiculous and failed war on drugs now. America needs to change first before other countries. Unfortunately this is just the way the world is and other countries look/and are forced by America to be like America.

Indeed! It's great to have a system that don't treat drug users like criminals! But there's a big FLAW in the LAW!

The consume is not criminalized, you can use or have till a certain amount to consume, (the equivalent to 10 days of consume, and the dosage are defined by the Portuguese government in a drug list) but you can't BUY, GROW or SUPPLY in a shop! It's a hypocrite LAW, only made to put in jail, for exemple, people that grow cannabis for their own use!!! LEGALIZAÇÃO JÁ!!!!!
