@fangirljunior I think it might have something to do with how their marriage is represented by the drive. The car driving is basically their life going on and on together, but as you can tell, they go from being so happy together to growing more distant. Eventually the wife grows so stressed and wants to separate from the man (the gun's like "till death do us part"), but she can't pull it off (the husband even gives her the chance to do it). Finally they forget(?) everything and begin love anew.
