  • OMG did it hurt I decided not to let them remove it,so I'm on Lamsil for three months

  • @kekemuffin3 This procedure is not very bad, I am the treating doctor not the patient. Lamisil is an excellent choice for treatment as well. Best of luck.

  • I highly recommend this.......many doctors won't do it......because just like a tooth once it is gone it's no longer a revenue stream.......but think ahead people......ever watch a 60+ person and all the trouble they have trimming gnarly toenails.......both my biggies are long gone and I love it

  • @52barney This is a very good procedure that I highly recommend. Best wishes.

  • @padeheer - Hi Dr. I have recurrent ingrown toenails on my right and left big toes. I was told about the Phenol matricectomy and wondered if it is best to do both nails at once or one at a time? What is the healing time?

  • I have dealt with fungus on the sides of my toenails before. I just get some surgical tools and bite the bullet and cut the fungus parts out myself. It bleeds quite a bit but I have gotten rid of probably 90% of the problem & the nails grew back perfectly. I am very sanitary using only sterile tools and antiseptic fluids constantly. My toe probably would of looked like this one did if I had not intervened when I did. I have done this on every toe I have with just a couple that didn't work

  • Mmmmm I'm having that done on tue being it on lol

  • @shelloz09 Lamisil is very safe, it has been around for a long time now. There are no more side effects with it than any other medication. I usually do not remove the nail if I am treating orally. Just use a small amount of betadine. It will be sore until the tip of your toe scabs over. Best wishes.
