Impress your friends with a DIY circle skirt! It's the ideal project for beginners because it's super easy, but is very tailored looking and wearable.

You will need:

-Fabric. I aim for 60" wide fabric, as 45" would make a skirt too short for my tastes. And then I buy an equal length to the width (so that I end up with a square).
-matching thread
-a zipper
-interfacing (optional: If your fabric is stiff you probably could do without, but I find that in the long run interfacing gives me a much cleaner, more professional look)

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I just accidentally deleted the long detailed description and instructions I was typing.

I'm going to bed.

  • Hey! i love this im trying to make a long circle skirt (all the way to my toes) how much fabric do I need? and im not sure how to fold it

  • @tracyblessed13 I like this technique, especially with patterned fabric or flowing-drapey fabric such as chiffon, because it allows me to keep the grain line running up-down fairly consistently.

But the math might be a bit difficult to calculate if you're not already comfortable making circle skirts.

WOW COOL IM SELLING PATTERN ON EBAY CHECK ME OUT PLEASETHANK YOU

  • nice Im sure I learn the she do it .,thanks

  • Too much math!!!!!!:(

  • very easy way of making a skirt. I would suggest that to make the hem even try it on before you hem. I see that on the sides where your hips are it appears that it is shorter than in the front and in the back and the same would go if you have a larger rear so that the hem looks even. It's actualyl a lot harder once you really think about it. :-) But I liked the video overall.

  • it would be a good video but i dont understand it without you explaining it properly..

  • I think explanation should be presented more realistic until mark the measurement on the fabric, because still not clear that if i need to add a inch for stitches or not. On the otherhand seems it make life easier.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Thank you dear great video thanks :)

  • Everytime I make one of these I always make the wait hole too big! Good thing te skirt is always a pleated-ish kind of skirt. -_-

  • Is the skirt on top gathered where you've sewn it to the band?
