Ah.....Russia is the last place Alaska would want to be lease too....lol. For one thing, Alaskans grew up with American system i.e the American Amendments. The freedom Russia lacks off; so the closest to the best is likely Canada but they are pretty broke. Leasing Alaska to Russia is suicidal because they are still a potential threat to the U.S and we know they had a very shady past. Another reason, it is to close for comfort to have a super power that close to the U.S homeland.

Who is this, Jimmy Carter? Remember the Panama Canal? Only a lib from California in conservative clothing would suggest such an outlandish idea.That was revenue the US had for almost a century. seems like a great idea at first, but what happens when you pay off a shopaholic's debt without cutting up the credit cards? It wouldn't take long before they ran up the debt again, and used the windfall to justify massive social programs and further expansion of governement.
