Restore your iPhone or iPod to the 4.0 (IOS4) firmware before you begin.

Run Redsn0w and follow through the instructions. This jailbreak also allows you to enable multitasking and home screen wallpapers on the iPod Touch 2G. You can also choose to or not to install Cydia (3rd party application)
