Yesterday (friday) morning I rode my bike to Chicago and decided to chase the UP trib job. I got there to late and got a flat tire wile there. I walked about 3 miles south to Irv's Bike Shop on 18th street, west of Halsted and filled up my new bike intertube. I road down the old abandoned lead to The brick place by the CIRY 1208 and 1209. No sign.
I heard a Horn and continued west down Cermak until I got to the Blue Island / Ashland/ Cermac intersection were I saw the crew of the 2815 Pulling east with an empty boxcar.
This job run out of BNSF's Western Avenue yard (18th and Western) every weekday morning. the crews are always awesome and it's a good time
The Engineer Used the horn Like crazy to.
This job had a BN GP30 now BNSF GP39-2R and has 3-4 crew members.

  • i like the class 1 bnsf running through the weeds deep in chicago. Nice video.

  • @toorivers Thanks! yah its a side of BNSF that a lot of people dont see.

  • the only time i see trains are when im driving, and theyre usually unwelcome. this train is near my house & ive actually been stopped in traffic by this train. this video gives it a very majestic look. this is a very simple video, but i have come to respect trains more because of it. nice work.

  • @romeruno thanks! Glad you liked it. Trains are actually kind of interesting once you get into it.
