I hope all those conspirary theorists remember that line about Bush as "the most isolationist US leader since WW2". Before 9-11, the same people who now accuse the USA of being too interventionist were accusing it of being too isolationist. A few months before 9-11, Bush had even announced plans to decomission 3 aircraft carriers, cut the defence budget and give a big $300 tax rebate to all Americans!
