Does one need a large aquarium and a place to climb out? They look like they have lots of character :)

My apologies, this isn't raw chicken, this is cooked sliced meat, soaked beforehand to leach out salts etc. You can tear that and ham into nice thin strips to "replicate" a wiggly worm.
It just happens to be Spyyk's favourite treat.

Best thing to do is to cut them into portions of about 8mm cubed. That's about the ideal size for the axolotl mouth to sook up. Frozen cubes such as bloodworm will disintigrate into smaller peices on melting and bloodworm makes a good staple diet.
S-Rhyma, you've got lots of potential to be an advisor, but do remember a lot of people are new to it and don't know what info you need from them first. It's no worry, just patience is needed :)

Hey, calm down. I've kept exotics for years honey, don't worry.
You do need surface displacement to allow oxygen to enter the water better. The water will go stale and fetid if left completely still, which means it will go toxic faster.
The gills are forced bigger to cope with the chemical and oxygen imbalance - which is more stressful than minimal water movement.
I hope that alleviates your worries. :)

why raw chicken? shrimp and scallop would be way better wouldn't it?

LOL c'mon do you seriously expect us to give you a number w/o seeing the size and texture/density of the pellets 1st?
if it eats 3 then stop eating after that, either try feeding it smaller peices or a diff. food.
Maybe his regular 3 pellets, 1/4 pellet, then a couple super small bits of his fav. meaty-food like worms or something...

I don't know much about this species but I would blindly agree with d1gobest1 if I had to guess... if something is from slow moving water in nature can TOLERATE slow moving water but doesn't like fast moving water than you should keep it in STILL WATER... Just cuz there is SOME movement in nature doesn't mean it won't do better without. Doesn't mean it WILL do better without either... BUT I've heard that they not only do best in STILL water but their gills will get much bigger to compensate...

I did email this user to point out that a small amount of flow is normal, indeed beneficial to axolotl, as they don't live in completely still water, just slow moving water.
My filter is set to pour water down the back of the tank, and then into plants so that the flow is comfortably distributed!
I'm an adviser for a few axie keepers, don't worry - I always research before I do anything.
Update: Sadly, after living comfortably for the last year and a half with his tankmate Benny, they had a bit of a fight and poor Spyyk lost an arm.
Fortunately we know how to heal em and he has a tank of his own now. He's healing very well, skin over stump and seems to be regrowing!
I have dealt with a few lost-limb cases in the past with rescues and bring-ins, but I know it can be scary for newbies!
Chill, cool, clean and care - if you need help at all, just shout me, ok?
:)
