Sample of the fantastic footage from Michael Maden's documentary about Finland's geologic nuclear waste repository, Onkalo.
Footage, taken from the end of the lifting hook of a crane, shows intimate footage of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) being moved around in a cooling pond, which acts as "interim storage" before reprocessing or geological disposal. The stainless steel casing (eerie in the video) enclosing the fuel rod assembly means these are from a BWR-type (boiling water)-type nuclear reactor.
