In Japan you play the "humble game". If someone compliments you on your hair, you say it sucks and a dogs arse looks much better. If you say to someone that their kid is exceptionally smart, they'll tell you he's a useless idiot. Never complain about others, only yourself. The goal of the game is to race each other to the bottom of social status, not to the top like they do in the West That's the Japanese "humble game". :)

Lol! My sensei told me that japanese people will always denie a compliament and say something bad because you are suppose to be the higher person but then you have to denie it too if someone gives you a compliament.

so like if you say "Your so pretty!" they will be like no no im ugly! and its not like they think there ugly but its what your suppose to say for an odd reason :P hm?
