St. Cloud extends Cyber Spot through Feb. 1, 2010

St. Cloud, Fla. St. Cloud City Council extended the municipal high-speed wireless Wi-Fi network Cyber Spot through February 1, 2010. A special session meeting was held October 1 at Council Chambers, City Hall, Building A, third floor.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Cyber Spots suspension. City Council voted Sept. 24 to suspend Cyber Spot starting October 1. However, Cyber Spot will continue to be offered as a public service to residents, businesses, and visitors for 120 more days. A motion was made by Council Member Mickey Hopper to extend Cyber Spot for 120 days and it was seconded by Deputy Mayor Tom Griffin. The motion passed 3-2, with Mayor Donna Hart, Deputy Mayor Tom Griffin, and Council Member Mickey Hopper voting yea and Council Members Jarom Fertic and Jay Polacheck voting nay.
Council will again discuss Cyber Spot during the December 10 regular council meeting. The public is invited to attend this meeting (at 6:30 p.m., at Council Chambers, City Hall, Building A, third floor).
