Video Transcript:

Patricia Greene: The panel this morning was really about hearing from women business owners about what their thinking about their lives, their businesses, how they are interested in creating value in their companies.

Andrea Cohen: I think this was a great panel to talk about the differences of women-led businesses and a little bit about our story and how we got here and what the challenges were and the lessons learned.

Patricia Greene: There's always a perception that women are going to build softer, gentler businesses. And actually The Guardian research does show that women report feeling more strongly about the people that are in their business.

Kip Hollister: It is so important to share ideas and brainstorm. Often we feel alone at the top.

Patricia Greene: I mean there's only 911,000 women businesses with employees in the whole country. So having three here I think really sets a nice standard and helps other women think about yes, I can learn from them, I can do it too.

Andrea Cohen: Somehow I want to take what we have learned to be able to impact as many people and families and systems as we can.
Michelle Macaux: Well I think one of the things that was really interesting was just kind of hearing them talk a little bit about how their management styles have changed over time.

Kip Hollister: I am an off the wall entrepreneur and love to lead. I do not like to manage.

Beth Williams: I think what I like best about what Andrea talked about just really how they developed their organizations.

Andrea Cohen: When I started the business I felt like I had to do everything myself and I think that's a very female kind of trait.

Patricia Greene: I thought Beth did a really interesting job talking because she's a manufacturer.

Beth Williams: The biggest challenge is to really establish the right leadership team. Establish that trust and really let them do what they have to do because there are very talented people out there.

Kip Hollister: My advice would be to get in the game.
Beth Williams: I would just say that you have to be committed and passionate and driven and really believe in yourself.
