This is just pandering to out of state left-wing internet blogger kooks that prop up Darcy's campaign.
I guess it's great that Darcy Burner opposes Barack Obama on this issue.

If they held the telecom companies liable for their actions they would have to show why they illegally tapped US citizen lines. At that point they would have exposed who from the Bush administration ordered this illegal act and exposed their lies. So it was a terrible vote and disgraceful and shame on Obama for retracting on his original filibuster stance on this issue.

Telecom Immunity was the right thing to do. This was nothing more than an attempt to scapegoat the Telecoms for what the Bush Administration did. And Because the Left can't get at Bush, they go after Verizon and AT&T. It's a joke. Obama made the right decision to vote for this. Justice was served.

When the definition of what's legal and constitutional becomes a "permission slip" from the President, we don't have a democracy... we have a king...

Say goodbye to the US constitution and say hello to a world that's become very afraid of you.
I dont need you to keep me safe. Just follow the constitution. Good luck.

First of all there was nothing illegal about it. The Courts never gave a decision. The only reason you want to hold the Telecoms accountable is to "expose" Bush. And that's the problem. Why should the Telecoms pay for actions of the government? The Congressional Leadership, including Democrats knew this was going on too. It's wrong that they leave the Telecoms to hang out to dry, when the Government knew this was going on.
