Designed by Ford Motor Company stylists in 1961, this stately Lincoln Continental was originally intended for the use of the White House. While these plans changed, the car remained dormant until 1963, when it was converted into a factory-built concept car for Fords Caravan of Stars traveling custom car show. Its many unique features include an extended wheelbase, a division window, and an open chauffeurs compartment, quite reminiscent of the elegant prewar town cars. Today, this luxurious low-mileage Town Brougham concept car is beautifully presented with a cosmetic restoration that includes a new exterior paint finish, restored brightwork, and a thoroughly detailed engine compartment. RM Auctions is pleased to present this car, along with hundreds of others at its Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale event to be held February 6-8 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL. • this is the 1965 lincoln convertible

  • Please see the comment below as this is a concept vehicle - not one from the production line.

  • This isn't a '63 Lincoln. It is post 1964.

  • This car was actually the factory built concept car originally designed in 1961 and built in 1963 as a concept for the later models.

  • Notice the half roof possibly part of what made it (unsafe for road use)

  • i love that color they should have produced it.

  • DeadCanDancR 1 references "The Lincoln Motorcar" by Thomas E Bonsall. On that same page of the same book, reference is made to an instruction sheet for the Ford Caravan of Stars advising that this car is "a cobbled elongated car, thus not considered safe for any road driving". Further reference is made to a $250 madatory scrappage fee per-vehicle at the end of the model year. Can the car featured here be the actual car, or a mere copy?

  • Best classic Lincoln I've seen for ages! Thanks for uploading this video. :o)

  • This is the 1965 Lincoln Continental Town Brougham. It was based on the 1964 Town Brougham show car. Check page 250 and 251 of "The Lincoln Motorcar", by Thomas E. Bonsall. Please, also check page 379 of "The cars of Lincoln Mercury" by G. Dammann & J. Wagner

By the way, it's a gorgeous car!
