  • @snarlingrabiddog5150 It's a juvenile rat.

  • @snarlingrabiddog5150 Design is part of the decision to, the FDNY knob is going on there no doubt. And the radio is big enough its hard to lose, you know when its gone. The 2500 is a good radio, its just not want I wanted. Also down here they cost a lot more if you can find them :P Not that meany people ship to Australia, so that means the price is "inflated" $200 for a XTS3000, >$500 for a 2500.

  • @lukefwjross I think 2500i's are incredible units. I don't like the design near as much as a 5k, but other than a couple minor things like mic compatability and warris volume knob (which I HATE, lol) it would be a VERY good "ground pounder" ;) That said, when you have batteries at the station, its hard not to go for a 3k. I just don't like the meg count and limited features of a 3k but for design, the 3k has it over the 2500 in my view. I still have two in VHF I'm keeping for a bit :)

  • @snarlingrabiddog5150 Picked up this one for a little over $70 AUD, I'll have to try it for a full day.

  • @snarlingrabiddog5150 I was considering a 2500, but its a ground pounder radio, if this radio gets messed up I wont be as upset as it if was a 2500, and it only needs to do 24 channels :P As well as that is compatible will all the hardware and batteries at the station for the UHF 5000's we have, so I made a choice :)

  • I LOVE that VHF 3000 Model III. I'd love to have a 3k III in VHF, yellow or black. It must be one of Panter's housings. He sells the R's. I like his housings a lot and his mics are really nice too.The 3k III VHF's seem to run about as much as a 2500 with FPP. I just sold my last 3k Model III in yellow today and really hate to see it go. Six of the units are off to Ko for upgrades and conversions but I still have 9 (4 5k's and 5 2500's) to get me by. I like both a lot. Nice mouse!! :)
