Nike ads have a clever twist in their messages: they replace the classic external foe (a physical threat) with an internal foe - laziness. It showcases a battle that is in most everyone's head - the battle between complacency and what is good for you. This brings the archetype down to a level that is ultimately relatable to all of us. It is the Nike one-two punch. This Nike ad personifies our self-contempt for our lazy side, and this ad goes on to celebrate our transcendence to action.
