Since pot is illegal, people have to buy it from criminal drug dealers, who also sell heroin and crack. If you could buy a joint at the grocery store, you wouldn't be forced to associate with drug dealers. Pot isn't the gateway to hard drugs, drug dealers are.

@MrByronio i argue the same thing for medical heroin. of course i think there are better alternatives but a lot of countries are having good experience with clean well dosed pharm grade heroin 2 doses per day one in the morning and one in the after noon. people come in, know they are getting real, pure, properly dosed heroin with a clean needle, and they are functioning in life, even business men whos faces are blurred say its great and even help fund it

I like Congressman Ron Paul. As for a test for driving under the influence of marijuana, here in Australia people are not just breath tested randomly for Alcohol, but also for Amphetamines and THC (by-product of marijuana). Imagine though if you can that most people who use Marijuana as a pain remedy are hardly using it to get high. And any type of pain relief when used properly will not make a person deliberately "stoned"...just does not work that way! .Ron Mr Paul has a great mind!

@tooyella210 Everything and anything that stimulates or effects you is a drug good or bad. Caffeine from coffee, Sugar in candy, nicotine in a cigarette. You can even call it a chemical substance (the delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, part that gets you high) It is also a herb because you can use the plant for food or ointment. Maybe one day you will be as smart as most "white people" and put race aside. Besides it wasn't the people who wanted it illegal, it was cotton and lumber industries
