Marc-André Bernier, Chief of the Underwater Archeology Service at Parks Canada, provides information on the HMS Investigator survey and the discovery of three grave sites near McClure's cache.

  • geezuz, who was doing the subtitles? "cash site", maybe it should've been "cache"??......."side scan"....maybe you mean "site scan"?....was a 17 yo intern doing the subtitles?

    Thanks comeade. We do our best to ensure the quality of our information and provide it in a timely manner but sometimes errors slip by unnoticed. The closed captions have been reviewed. The equipment used is actually a side-scan sonar.

  • My Greatgrandfather servered on the Investigator during this time (1850/53) as a Bosun's Mate. The 3 men who's graves are on Banks Island all died in April 1853, just a few days apart. One Gunners Mate and two Able Seamen. I do have their names.
