haha, I'm a jeweller and the idea of being nervous while working with silver is pretty funny. the stuff is so cheap! i barely even care about where my silver lemel is going when i work with it. It's gold, platinum, palladium etc. that you want to be careful with. Also, theres no need for a wooden guide, just practise your sawblade skills

That looks like they are his Jaffa cakes.
Nice vid though. Wish I could work as fast as that.

A jeweler's bench often has a slide-out tray (like a keyboard tray) to catch things like the rings, or the silver dust. Beeswax on the blade helps (looks like you may have some in the bag in the lower right).

This may just be my ignorance, but couldn't you just make a wooden guide to keep the saw on track while cutting, then just work on the whole coil it's self? Does working with silver make you nervous? It would make me scared to mess up :X

Yeah I learned that wooden-rack-thingie just a few months ago on a course on "silver forcing". I have no idea what's the fancy name in english for banging a sheet of silver in to a form.
There I was told that sawing rings is much easier that way and I later tried it at home and damn it worked nicely.
