Ponty or Point is a name Sri Lankan culture adopted back in 1995 to refer to Ponting's beard...it's still used very commonly...even now in everyday conversation a beard of the sort Ponting is scoring in this video is called a Ponty/Point. :)

Ponting is amazing. I hear people complain that he's a cry baby. i may not be a good cricketer but I damn sure am a good basketballer and in case you've never played a sport professionally don't even bother commenting. you don't know the frustration you feel at the spur of the moment. but a true sportsman always loses gracefully and Ponting has always done that on the field and in all the press conferences. you must respect that. Ponting ! you da MAN!
