December 9, 2009 a group of approximately 300 students and faculty staged a walk-out, rally, and march across CSU Stanislaus. 21% of our faculty has been cut vs the 8% CSU average. Stanislaus' winter semester was recently cut despite overwhelming student and faculty opposition. We are facing massive class cuts and the possible cutting of whole departments. Over 91% of our faculty recently voted no confidence in our president Hamid Shirvani. Also, our school's provost was recently censured for an article he wrote in a local paper where he manipulated the facts on faculty compensation. Our administration has proved again and again that they are not willing to work with students or faculty on the important issues facing our school today. The purpose of this rally was to provide a platform for students and faculty to tell their stories and to stage later statewide actions. More info on facebook. • I hate hearing the awful truth of problems within higher education. I support higher education. My dream for myself is higher education. I think the last thing I would want is this. These things are so depressing. First for me trying to get to higher education is a problem now this makes it even tougher to endure all this then also to make the most of your experience.

  • "Fuck That"----- We don't need to educate crude and rude individuals like you!
