The National Housing Corporation and the Nairobi City Council have finally buried their differences over the Madaraka estate. The National Housing has handed over a cheque of 181.3 million shillings and five housing estates back to the city council of Nairobi. In return the council has surrendered the land title deed and houses of Madaraka estate to the corporation as the two institutions resolved the row over the ownership of the houses in the five estates. The tenants in Kariokor, Huruma, Kariobangi, Buru Buru and Jamhuri flats will now pay their rents to the city council with immediate effect.
