This is an antique Emerson 32" ceiling fan (c. 1920's). The rotor inside the motor was totally frozen up, and most of the original paint was gone. I had the parts powdercoated in a finish called "coppervein", restored the tag, installed brand new wiring throughout, and rewired the choke coil.

I start the fan out on "low" speed, demonstrate the schoolhouse light, and then turn the fan on high, followed by medium. Medium speed is almost identical to high, although I can sense maybe a 1-2 RPM difference between these speeds. "Low" is noticeably slower, but not in the sense of low speed settings on modern fans.
