Just One Fix: Poi Spinning with Floggers

Visual oddity set to the Ministry song Just One Fix.

This is what a bored Lady does while home alone with her floggers. I made these myself using about 150 feet or so of nylon rope.

I am now learning how to spin poi and just recently made some poi out of long knee-high socks.

However, I learned the basics first using two floggers. The trick with Florentine Flogging is that not only are you spinning two items, you also have a target to hit...a human being.

Now don't you dare tell me that doesn't sound fun. I bet you can think of someone right now you'd just love to flog real good. Do tell...

I wondered if poi and florentine flogging should be considered very similar in movement (with the exception that florentine flogging, you always gotta be cautious about where you strike).

Yes, the two are very much alike. I just started twirling poi recently and have taken to it pretty well because of my florentine flogging.

...Were do you learn florentine methods...is it just learn poi first and then transfer it to floggers?

The breathing from the gas mask sounds soooooo creepy doesn't it?! That's my favorite part!

I actually learned how to Florentine Flog BEFORE I learned how to twirl poi. I'm actually brand new to poi.

A friend showed me how to twirl 2 floggers. If you already know how to poi, you'll take right to Florentine Flogging and vice versa.

However, to remain modest, I find the poi more difficult because of focusing more on varieties of twirling visuals rather than just hitting a human target!
