While the BN might be gone & MRL might operate the line across the southern end of Montana, you can still catch glimpses of what BN might still be doing today. Perhaps not so much anymore, but up until 2008 it was pretty easy to find older BNSF power in BN paint leading trains to/from Spokane on MRL. Looking back at this footage, the summer of 2006 found many coal trains powered with SD70MAC leaders while 2007 saw the coal trains with a "last hurrah" of sorts for the SD60M before they were renumbered & largely sidelined in 2008. At times, you would not know BN ever went away.
At that tunnel at 7:30, those operators must have been dying in that cab with all that soot coming in, it certainly was not exiting the tunnel,

Good video, but it would be nice to see the whole train and not only the locomotives.

with the end of this video , ends an era. all of these shots are either imposible or highley unlikely. BNSF uses GEVOS SD70MACS and ACEs in their coal serivce. creme macs no longer have nose logos . BN SD60MS are renumbered. SD40-2s are either sold scraped or in yard service and renumbered. this is the end of an era many railfans young and old wish they could have railfaned.
