The UK stopped the USA from annexing it. one of the objectives in the war of 1812 was for the U.S military to annex canadian land.

Jepet - he is allowed to be racist to the French. 1. It is in his freedom and human rights to say wants. 2. Britain/England was at war with France for 1500 years ( the reason I wrote England was because Britain did not become one until 1707 - the union act. )

We should be a republic. Anything less is an insult to democracy. Plain and simple. And let's get some better hats for crying out loud, those are rediculously British. The only Canadian parts of this parade are the heros wearing the uniforms.

As a Canadian, I am proud of our ties with the British Commonwealth. It hasn't always been easy or even good at times, but it's who we are, after all, most traditions bring people together. Some people say they have no use for it, which just means that Canada has changed alot in the last 70 years or so. It should serve as a reminder of how a large country with a relatively small population has achieved so much for the world.
