The story is sad, but it is like those sad tearful story of moms desperate because their sons are on gangs or prison. Let's see the facts:

(1) she came illegally. If a non-citizen wants to marry a citizen, the proper procedure is to apply in country of origin. Thousands of couples wait and do it the right way.

(2) she was driving a car without a license. That is a serious offense for anyone, citizen or not.

(3) they are not being harassed, they are law-breakers

@ayshakhanmo Either way. anybody who would put their kids in even the position of being taught to be criminals and lying about their parents to the police even if the kids don't know the truth. If they brought them across the desert, that would be a serious case of child endangerment and even more reason to take the kids away from them. If they cut illegals off from medical care she wouldn't have had them here anyhow.

@rbodell i am not talking about kids brought here by crossing the border.

I am talking about kids who are born here but their parents are undocumented. when parents are deported, kids have to go back too

@rbodell All I was saying that there is no way out and "no line" for undocumented immigrant to get into if they want legal status.

@ayshakhanmo Let me see, If you came here illegally, you didn't go through the border and Immigration. You brought your kids across the desert with a bunch of drug smugglers, probably to carry more drugs than you could haul. You didn't give a dam about your kids.I have no problems about taking the kids and finding them a real home where they are loved and given an education instead of teaching them to be a criminal like the parents..

How could I have possibly included all the immigration law criteria concerning this in such a few characters they allow here? OH GEE, you can't,not even in shorthand.

@rbodell If you have kids, its extremely difficult. You have to take them with you and they cant adjust to other countries if they are older than 3-5 years.

@rbodell This is not the only critera. Even if you are really married to a US citizen, have kids with him/her, you cant get your status adjusted here in US. You have to go back to the country you are originally from and get your visa. The draconic part in the law is, when you leave the US to get your visa, you will get a 10 years bar to come back to US. So what i am trying to say is even you are married to US citizen, if you lived here without visa at any time, there is no way out for you.

Well, You have kids and a wife. So critical how a state can choose some crappy laws over the American kids, Tax payer (you) to just deport her. What life do they expect those kids to have without a mother. Maybe God will see this and answer appropriately. One day it will be pple migrating away from America. Watch as their economy fails and power shifts to East.
