This has always been one of my favorite songs (I'm a mezzo). It makes a wonderful recital encore. You sing this song beautifully and bring out its meaning. You have a really good instrument!

Very nice to hear a tenor perform this in the orginal key.
A strong performance. This song is about understatement, not opera.
Thank you for sharing.

you have a beautiful voice and I love your rendition of this song. I know this is the higer key, but do you happen to have any idea of where I could get this song in the lower key?

GREAT job! I love your voice and would kill to have you in my studio! However, try picking up the tempo on this piece a little and work on mixing in a little more head tone so that those beautiful high notes will sound even richer!

I'm a classically trained singer (although I have strayed from my operatic training to sing music I actually love :) and I think you are VERY talented. You did a great job with one of my favorite classical/voice pieces. Isn't it a beautiful song?

Yes, I'm a high tenor. Um... I can't remember key actually. It's been a couple years since I've performed this song. It's the higher one. I think the highest note was a G flat?

am a college voice professor at the State University at Brockport, NY. I really enjoyed this performance. You have a lovely, naturally relaxed sound. However, it looks to me as if your knees are locked in place. Place your feet 6-8 inches apart, one foot slightly ahead of the other. The knees should be flexible. Also, drop your arms and let them relax at your side. Express the music with your face. Your hands are a distraction. It makes you look stiff, even if you aren't.

Thanks! Yeah, believe me I noticed this too when I went back to watch the video. I was just learning how to actually perform a piece at that time, so I was trying things... which didn't always work. But I've learned since then, and I'm still learning now. I'm glad people are watching the video. Hopefully others can learn from my mistakes as well. :)

beautifully worked voice.. you sell the song very well.. first truly believable performance of this piece i've seen posted... almost as moving a performance as a young fellow used to give when i was back at USF in the 90's... You have wonderful control of the voice.. focused and solid sound.. breath technique is outstanding.. who did you study with and where?

I was actually at a community college still in MD. I studied with Dr. Molly Donnelly there, until I transferred to Ohio State University to study with Prof. Loretta Robinson. My voice has already changed a lot with her, for the better of course. Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. Truly appreciated.
