At The Battle Of Prestonpans near Edinburgh, a Jacobite army attacked General Sir John Cope's inexperienced English forces at around 4am on 21st of September 1745 and defeated them. Only 170 of the 2300 strong English army managed to escape. 1500 were taken prisoner. The battle was over in 10 minutes, with the loss of fewer than 100 Highlanders.

Thrum were formed in 1986 by Scars members Paul & John, with Murray Bruce (ex Metropak) and Neil Braidwood (ex The Freeze & The Delmontes.) We played live around London for a while, and recorded a handful of acoustic songs - some traditional - some of our own. Around 1990 Thrum were dissolved, and everyone went to do other stuff. We had no idea at the time that a band from Glasgow (no relation) were to choose the same name.
