This video was take from Thalys web site with the information that from December, 13th Thalys will going to Amsterdam - 3 h 18 m instead 4 h 09 m - and Cologne - and 3 h 14 m instead 3 h 50 m from Paris.
So. Lets think about it a bit...
As knowing there have approx. 570 km between Paris - Amsterdam (average speed 137 km/h till December,13). Other side between Moscow and Sankt-Peterburg have 650 km and till December, 18 (from that day Russian railways get put new high speed train Velaro RUS "Sapsan" by Siemens) 'R-200' old first high speed train by Riga's plant of USSR had tooks 4 h 15 m for the same 650 km (average 150 km/h).

  • This is actually short sections of the train ride from Paris to Liege (via Brussels). The sections are in the northern part of France, around Brussels South station, On the "old line" Brussels - Liege and entering into Liege.
