Carl Wilson brings you or should I say a rare video of 2 BNSF locomotives operating in waneta. Usually you would see Omnitrax owned engines here but because of the wreck that claimed both of the KFR's engines, the railroad leased 2 BNSF GP38-2 locomotives at the time of the video. Now as far as I know the KFR might have new engines (hopefully in the full KFR paint scheme) and the engines you see have been returned to Spokane but lucky I got the train shortly during the clean up so enjoy.

  • I'm not sure why they didn't use the usual engines. My guess is either their engines were working in Grand Forks, Colville, or Chewelah; or the BNSF engines were part of the auxillary clean up. My uncle works at Trimac (the company that trucks smelted ore from Cominco) knows the trains there and the crew and they said they had a rail crane from Seatle and brought it here via BNSF.

  • Why didn't they just use the ones that go up to Grand Forks?
