Which "atheistic" ideas killed millions of people? Atheism only has one idea, as far as I know. "There is no god."

Newton, Galileo, Kepler, and Copernicus were actually all instrumental in the Age of Enlightenment (a.k.a the Age of Reason) where men like them called for an intellectual separation from organized religion and the oppression of the Catholic Church. I'm not an Atheist, I believe that there may be a deity out there somewhere. So did they, but they believed in reason and human progress, things organized religion works against.

@speedskull66, I'm not saying there HAS to be an all-powerful deity but you're right, I don't believe in the Christian representation of god. I think it's a big part of the human experience to discover if there actually is a deity out there.
