it's really easy to add an output. there should be two wires connected to the speaker. figure out which one is hot and which one is ground, and connect the hot to the tip and ground to the sleeve of whatever size jack you are using. hope this helps.

It's just I've heard this method can be to hot for the output?

it can be loud, but you can add a trimpot to lower the signal or just use a regular pot as a volume control.
