A long but good video about the Japanese kitchen. This will be followed up with a shorter video. :)

  • Ahh I sold Cutco too. Great knives :)

  • Yeah they are! I'm glad I shipped them here!

  • Haha, now that I finished the video I would also like to say that I totally, 100%, agree with you on the knives make the kitchen. I know some friends who use Cutco, I use some Global knives at home. As a ex-culinary student, I can't stand cooking at a friends house who own crappy knives.

  • Yes, nothing worse than working with dull knives! It's like trying to ice skate uphill, just doesn't work!

  • I love brown rice! It tastes awesome and its healthy for you.

  • VERY healthy for you!

  • You must have the biggest kitchen I have ever seen in a japanese home. It's a really nice one to, how'd you get so lucky? XP

  • that is a small rice cooker lol i need a bigger one XD nom nom rice is awesome lol

  • lol, yeah, i haven't used the "unknown" sauces yet, they were left by my predecessor.

the cabinets are high for most Japanese, not sure why though.. guess they could stand on a stool. maybe they are for things that are not used very often.

brown rice is the only rice in my opinion!!

  • :)!!! Thank you so much! And please do comment, I welcome anything you have to say! :)

  • Did I mention I am a mind reader? ;)

About the knives... Since I already had a set (that would cost $500 to replace), I decided to bring them instead of putting in storage.

Since you do not have any now, definitely wait until you get here. This is the land of kick ass knives, might be a little pricey, but you will end up with a fantastic set. All I can recommend is save a little money and buy a good set that will last the rest of your life.
