Short music video of my 3 1/2 year old Canaan Dog, Smeagol, racing around the backyard. His 3 1/2 year old sister, Dax, makes a cameo appearance as well. They do play a bit rough together, but that's what Canaan Dogs do! I used the Windows XP Movie Maker to edit.

haha my Canaan does the same thing! i stumbled upon the breed when i adopted what i thought was a Border Collie mix... after learning about the Canaan, i'm convinced that's what my dog is and I'm looking into getting one from a breeder now.

My first Canaan Dog was Abbey, from Bryna, she passed last december almost 14 yrs old, she produced 5 litters, with 6 AKC champions amoung them. We have her daugter Naaca who is 8 and her son Ozzie who is 1 1/2 years old, we love them they keep life intresting everyday!! My initials are CC

Well, it seems that my Smeagol is indeed a relative of Spock! Let's see Smeagol is out of Z and Muwth, Muwth was out of Dylan and Marnie, Dylan was also Spock's Dad out of Christie's Abbey - so Smeagol would be Spock's 1/2 nephew through Dylan!
Hey, we're almost relatives! ;-)

I'm in the south and both of my dogs are from River Rock Farm (formerly of Georgia now located in Australia).
Where are you and who was the breeder of your dogs?

Thanks. Yes, this truly is an amazing breed of dogs. Super intelligent, fantastic natural herding instincts and superior watch dogs! They ARE a bit trying and definitely NOT for "laid back" owners! These guys need physical AND mental stimulation on a daily basis. But for those owners who put in the time, the rewards are countless!
