  • some good stuff in there mate, good luck with your exam.

  • Thanks :)

  • its serious i didn't know it was a song but its good either way

  • O right, cheers :)

It's actually a piece, it's the grade 8 Rudimental Study for Trinity Guildhall

  • are you playing anything or just making things up

  • Is that sarcasm or do you mean it?

  • Well played, but this is a horrible piece of music. Impossible to play with any personality (which I suppose is the point of grades to some extent).

  • WTF is this? Why be grade 8 at playing shit music?

I'd rather listen to something simple that has groove.

  • At the end of the day, grade eight Trinity requires a much higher level of playing than Rockschool. This is indisputable. Trinity grade six is about the same as Rockschool grade eight, if not slightly harder.

  • regarding the whole rockschool vs trinity argument - you should learn things from both - 2 very different animals, and each teaches things that the other lacks. E.g Rockschool is very beat heavy, but trinity really works on technique and sightreading.Get the best of both worlds - you know its true!

  • @tiernan1309 difference is, rock school is a doss. for lazy people.

    :)

yes, it may not be played in real life but this is not a piece, it is a rudimental study. by playing this study i have seriously increased my general playing ability, and things such as my coordination and playing speed have dramatically improved. on the other hand i can almost sight read grade 8 rock school.

rock school, in my opinion is not superior :)

  • about to do my grade 8 this month, pretty nervous, how did you do?

  • this is how rock school shows it's superiority, this piece wud never be played in real life, so it's almost irrelevant, whether or not you can play it (no offense to the guy in this video). The rock school pieces cud be real songs that people wud listen to, like 667.

P.S. is that an XS20 crash?

  • i think the writer deliberately wrote it that way?

  • i would agree trinity is just alittle bit how shall i put it... idioticly hard :) hehe well done good work :)

  • Good start - nice technique on the rudiments. Some improvement on your paradiddles (especially the application around the kit) would go along way. I'm glad i played rockschool board rather than trinity as this piece has hardly any groove whatsoever. very uncohesive - which is the writers fault of course.
