The crew on Canadian Pacific 246 must've been just about half past dead by the time their exhausting shift ended. Problems started shortly into this trains journey when the defect detector at milepost 71.2 was malfunctioning. Only a mile down the tracks this train became critically low on air pressure and went into emergency. The conductor had to walk the length of the train, so the engineer crept the trains for about another half mile down the tracks where the train would once again stop... and wait. By the time the conductor inspected the train and reached the head end 246 became over 1 hour late for Hamilton. Obviously that wasn't enough work for the conductor, the 2nd locomotives door panels had to be wired shut because they were swinging open. Finally the conductor got up in the cab, a clearance was given and the crew and the train started their slow journey down the Hamilton Subdivision. Atleast the power was spectacular and all these calamities put on a great show for railfans. LRF Video Productions

  • i heard were fucked up on the radio

  • Great ears on you! They sure did, kind surprised us.

  • Oh yes we get those days here too, and it's not always one thing that's wrong, it's just one problem after the other, and then the whole line gets stacked up and trains get stuck, it always happens during the busy traffic session, haha. Which reminds me, I have a video of an emergency stop to upload, I think you'll like it. And this video is great because of those awesome EMD's, they sounded great. I liked it a lot.

  • Thanks for the compliments and information Eric. I would love to see that video of the train in Emergency. As always I will be looking for some more great videos from you.

  • were fucked up again lol

  • canada has railway?

  • i seen that train befor i saw it at my school

  • Well done video and information.

    Cause of low brakeline pressure?

    Thank you.

  • He is suffering tracksickness.

  • the plates that stick up between the rails at the scanner proly tore the glad hands apart, puting the train in emergency, you have to maintain 8 mph over scanners or they give "system not working". If the trains northbound it needed the 3 units to get up out of Hamilton.

  • Shame, the description worked the video up and after watching it there was not much to see. Very uneventful.

  • I didn't realize Canada had FEMA camps to deport people to.

  • Love the EMD turbocharged 645E.

  • @Dookiedolf hard to tell possibly being moved but i doubt it becuse the writing on the screen says conducter moves from back engine or something like that so probably needed to haul the load
