The Conduit is a FPS developed ground-up for the Nintendo Wii by development studio High Voltage Software, and will be published worldwide by SEGA.

Custom built to harness the full potential of the Wii's hardware capabilities, HVS's proprietary Quantum3 engine technology powers the graphics presented in The Conduit, and boasts photo realistic visuals achieved with normal mapping rendered in real-time, coupled with dynamic bump-mapping and a host of other graphical effects all displayed at a solid rate of 60fps.

The Conduit also accommodates fully customisable controls such as pointer sensitivity, turning speed and bounding circle size, including the freedom to move elements of the HUD around the screen or disable them completely.

The game also looks set to feature a thorough online multiplayer allowing upto 16 players to battle online in at least three different modes. The title will also be compatible with the Wii Speak peripheral to facilitate voice chat.

  • What is motion plus

  • Wii MotionPlus is an add-on that goes into the Wii Remote and enables even greater tracking of the motion that the player makes.

FPS such as The Conduit will benefit from this with realistically-mapped motion controls and possibly even greater accuracy with the pointer.

  • It has now been confirmed that The Conduit will support WiiSpeak to bring voice-chat to its 16 player online mode.

  • WiiSpeak will allow for voice chat to be easily implemented, now that it will be packed in with Animal Crossing: City Folk, so it will upto High Voltage whether or not they wish to make use of it.

Without a doubt WiiSpeak will be sold separately before long, and other devs will make use of it.

As it is, WiiSpeak's will facilitate 'group chat', where one group can chat to another, of course this means than one person can chat alone as well - so all bases are covered

  • Will wiispeak be avaible ingame? :P

  • So far all that has been revealed at E3 is mostly concerning the single player experience - as of their interview with IGN before E3 (where they announced 16 player online multiplayer), they haven't divulged any further information about the multiplayer experience and have not confirmed or denied voice chat being part of the game.

If voice chat were to become a reality in the multiplayer component of The Conduit, then it will definitely make use of WiiSpeak to facilitate that feature.

  • has cool graphical tech, but it has bad art

  • most of the vids. are from its pre alfa thought and there on youtube so the quality could of went down becuse of both of these.

  • only thing that i can tell from watching several videos of it that is not great is the graphics on the environment, it's not bad just not great like the enemies and weapons n stuff

  • No, this will not help the accuracy with the pointer. The pointer uses infrared censors. But it will make for kick ass motion gestures.

  • of course

  • definately weak

  • Its also gonna use wii speak for online play hehe get ready for some major cussing coming to wii online.....cause you know in animal crossing u didnt really have a reason to get mad at anything in the game....

  • New update! May 18, 2009! Get your guns ready people!
