How I fragged fatal1ty at QuakeCon 2009

I was playing a leisurely game of Quake Live in the BYOC area with a few people when suddenly fatal1ty joined. A millisecond later he was followed by a million other players begging him for a duel. Through hardly any merit of my own, I managed to frag him a few times and after one of those occasions I considered it wise to fire up fraps and record a few minutes in case I might get lucky again. And yeah, I managed to kill him with my machine gun when he had the quad!

(I know this video has no sound. I will make a version with sound on one of the next days.)

IMPORTANT: Don't bother commenting on this if you just have something insulting to say. I've learned over time here that this video makes some people very angry. If you're one of these people, go away. I've also changed the settings so only comments approved by me will be posted. I'm still interested in your opinions if they are longer than one word and not just about how I shouldn't have posted this for one reason or the other or how I am somehow worthless for daring to post this.

why did u record fraps when you could've just recorded a demo ????

@Aciddaggerr , I had answered that about a year ago: A video file from fraps will work forever, whereas a demo recording will only work as long as the demo format in Quake Live isn't changed in an update (which can happen at any time). Also with fraps I don't have to run and record a replay, I can just stay in the game after saving the video. Plus fraps works the same for all games, no need to know different commands.

It's now bothered at least 3 people that I used fraps. Is it so bad?

Why hate on this guy? Fragging fatal1ty is a huge moment. Kind of like running up the stairs of that art museum in Philadelphia. Or by the technology of cloning recreate dinosaurs.. with jetpacks. Congratz man, I wish I got the opportunity to frag fatal1ty =/

@MrEvilOtto The only reason why capturing with fraps while playing sucks is because it will lower your framerate. Ideally you want com_maxfps 125 in quake, meaning you have 125 frames per second. Frames per second have a big impact in this game what with strafe jumping.

I didn't even bother with the BYOC lan part of the ql site during QC2011...I just stuck with normal internet version... but awesome frag lol.
