@brucefetter That sounds great! I will insist on seeing it next time I'm in the area! Thanks for your comment.

@voodoochilled1 a foundation dedicated to preserving the memory and writings of CS Lewis owns the house and Lewis scholars live/work there. It is open to the public.

hey there clark! hehehe just finding this odd to be saying hi to another clark and at the same time another c.s. lewis fan...
i'm archie lemuel clark velasco... so you're connected with oxford university or something?
have you watch the movie shadowlands? i'm not just so sure if this was the same house that they shot for the movie but i really hope to one day pass by here... hehehe

This is odd. I'm also called Clark! I think it's more that some people aren't very tuned in to spirtual things like seeing CS Lewis house. We were never in the house. We just walked past it cause someone lives in it.

yeah... that is just so weird...
it maybe because there are only a few of us who has a higher taste for literature exists... hehehe
just kiddin...
ever since i was a child i'd been amazed by c.s. lewis' narnia until i'd been reading mere Christianity, the abolition of man, and the mind boggling Miracles, and etc..
Just when had you been in his house?
i'm clark by the way...

So was I when I first saw it! It was weird cause no one else seemed affected by it at all. I mean come on, this is a house in which a literary giant once lived! Where is everyone?!
Can you tell me what the building to the side of the house is used for? I was there several years ago and was wondering if that was the caretaker's house. By the way, there is a seminar going on in Oxford in July, 2011 in which participants get to stay in the house for a week. Check out the website for the C.S. Lewis Foundation and you will find links to it.

@logicpractitioner I actually have no idea and know very little about the house. Unfortunately as I'm going in June this year I'll miss the seminar! Oh well...

I sometimes had the idea of setting up a special holiday experience, called "In the Footsteps of C.S. Lewis", starting in Northern Ireland, then to Surrey, in England, and then to Oxford, sightseeing, mixed with readings and discussions from his work in the evenings. I'm much too busy to realise this now, but maybe someone else wants to give it a go?
